Welcome Letter

Dear Endeavor Elementary Families,

My name is Heather Yarbrough, and I am so excited to introduce myself as the principal of Endeavor Elementary School. I have worked for the Nampa School District for 25 years, with 16 of those years at Endeavor. I have had the pleasure of serving as a teacher, as the Instructional Coach, and now as the principal in a building that holds my heart.  While serving all stakeholders is top priority, I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I will spend a lot of time with your children, continuing to get to know their personalities, learning styles, and unique interests. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are respected, valued, and loved.

I also look forward to the work we will do together.  As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.”  I am excited to see your children through your eyes and cannot wait to share with you the great things they do throughout their days here at Endeavor Elementary. Please know that I am also here for you as parents, should you need any help navigating any aspect of the school day.

Learning is a top priority at Endeavor Elementary, and my goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy, and safe, so they may learn as much as they can in the time they are here. At Endeavor, we live by five pillars: to be safe, kind, responsible, respectful and present. I will work to ensure that your children know what these mean as a learner and a contributing member of our school community.

As much as my work as an educator has shaped who I am and will grow to be a leader, my greatest influences come from my personal life.  I have been married for 26 years to my high school sweetheart Waylon, who is the Deputy Superintendent for Nampa School District. We have three beautiful children: Gracee (13), Graylon (10) and Gretta (8), and two dachshunds named Darby and Dash. They are my why and motivate me to be a better person on a daily basis.  Please know that what I want for my own children will drive me to work tirelessly to ensure all your children have the best possible experiences while at Endeavor.

Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to serve your family as the principal of Endeavor and am excited to offer the best possible education to our children.

Warm Regards,

Heather Yarbrough
